Channing began his work in wildlife conservation as a midlife career change after studying English and French (B.A. Yale, M.A. University of California) and then working for two decades in the corporate world, mostly at Apple. He holds master’s degrees in conservation biology (Victoria University of Wellington) and wildlife management (University of Sydney), and expects to complete his Ph.D. in zoology at the University of Sydney in 2021. Channing established our flagship research program, working with Tasmanian devils and quolls, in 2012, and founded The Carnivore Conservancy in 2015.
